One of our favorite things to do during the school year is to head out with a big group of people to Chicago’s Promontory Point, colloquially known as ‘The Point.’ The Point is about a 20-minute walk from the quad, and it’s located right along Lake Shore Drive. It’s a peninsula that juts out into Lake Michigan, and there are bonfire pits by the rocks where you can start fires and roast marshmallows on a nice night. The Point gives you a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline, especially when it starts to get dark, and the city is just beginning to come alive with light.
